Hello, I’m Raquel Furrer, grew up in Houston, Texas and from the early age of 4, I knew I liked fitness.
My family enrolled me in ballet and tap dancing, along with my older sister and cousin. The studio was Ms Billy’s we even landed a spot on channel 39 to dance our recital on the Don Mahoney and Jeanna Clare with their Kiddie Troupers show!!

Ok fast forward many years, how did I get my start in triathlons? Well, it started with the bike. My Dad was diagnosed with MS at a pretty late age. I always wanted to do the MS150 to show support and raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. This was a 150 mile bike ride from Houston to Austin but I was intimidated by road bikes and riding on the streets.
Finally in 2016 I decided I was going to ride the MS150! Honestly, I was pretty clueless about what I was doing but I had the drive and passion. This helped give me the foundation for my triathlon racing !
